Making Fonts Look Good on Linux

Fonts on Linux have always been a sore subject for me. I love Linux, and I like almost everything about it more than Windows. But why can't the fonts look as good as they do on Windows???

The solution? Use Microsoft fonts.

It's sad, but true. Their fonts are just plain better.

On Ubuntu:
  1. sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts

  2. Get a Tahoma font (not included in msttcorefonts)

  3. Use Veranda for documents
I still use Bitstream Vera Sans Mono for monospace.

My Linux desktop looks much better now.
